About the Work
FELT GRID 1–20 is a series of intimate textile portraits, where hand dyed felt pieces are stitched into a shifting grid. Though structured, the hand-sewing and subtle variations in the material create an organic surface - where precision softens into movement, and order dissolves into something more fluid. Each work unfolds up close, revealing layered traces of touch, time, and sensation.
The remaining pieces in the series, in greys, rose, and cherry reds, evoke both warmth and geological depth - like cross-sections of shifting landscapes or the quiet imprint of memory. The grid becomes a topographical map, where seams trace contours like fault lines, and the felt’s rich nuances recall geological strata. These works map a tactile terrain, where fragmented sensuality is stitched together, forming a delicate balance between control and release.
